In the Rathod mansion,
an old man and a man in his early thirties stood in the living room.
"Whatever has happened, I know it's not right, but you can't deny that Siya is now your wife, Raghuveer. You have to honor this relationship," Anand, Raghuveer's grandfather, urged. Without responding, Raghuveer turned and walked toward his room.
"I know Siya will change you, Raghuveer," Anand thought, watching his grandson's retreating figure.
Inside the room,
Siya sat on the bed, her face buried in her hands, clutching the blanket with anxiety.
She had known Raghuveer for years, but only as a professor for whom she had developed a small crush. Now, fate had made him her husband, stirring a whirlwind of confusing emotions in her heart.
Her gaze shifted to the door just as Raghuveer entered, closing it behind him.
When their eyes met, she felt a rush of vulnerability as he saw her through the delicate, red veil.
Despite the circumstances, he couldn't deny his attraction to herโa student who had captivated him from their very first encounter, now standing before him as his wife.
"Siya," Raghuveer's voice pulled her from her thoughts, sending a flurry of butterflies fluttering in her stomach.
"Jiii," she managed to reply, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You know I wasnโt ready to marry you or anyone, but now I am. Siya, I can't give this marriage a chance. We can share this room but remain strangers, given our family circumstances," he said, his tone firm.
The nervous excitement of being married faded as tears threatened to spill from beneath her veil.
"Right, Siya?" His voice jolted her back to reality, and she simply nodded.
"And youโre only 19, so youngโyou should enjoy your life, not burden yourself with responsibilities. You can change that, and Iโll be in another room, so you donโt have to worry. Just be comfortable," he added, moving toward the door that connected to the wall of the room.
Siya watched him leave, tears streaming down her cheeks as she grappled with her emotions. She stepped off the bed and approached the closet, standing in front of the mirror. Slowly, she uncovered her face and gazed at her reflection, searching for answers in her own eyes.
"Ram Ji, why did you do this to me? Dadu swore it would be different, yet here I am, married, and my husband isnโt ready to accept it.
Maa... I miss you so much. If you were here, no one would have forced your daughter into a marriage like this."
(POV End)
His words shattered her heart. She was willing to give this marriage a chance, but he had crushed her hopes deeply.
On the other side
Raghuveer layed on his back trying to sleep
Raghuveer's mind was consumed by one name: Siya. Thoughts of their marriage swirled around him, and he couldnโt shake the ache in his heart caused by her moist eyes. Maybe itโs better for you to stay away from me, Siya, he thought.
He layed on his back trying to sleep but groend in frustration as his phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID: it was Sidharth, his best friend and Siya's brother.
He answered the call.
"Hello, Raghuveer. Is Siya okay? Sheโs not picking up," Sidharth's voice came through, tinged with concern.
"Itโs 1 AMโsheโs sleeping," Raghuveer replied, a hint of irritation in his tone.
"Really? She went to bed this early?" Sidharth asked, surprised.
"Hmm. Now let me sleep," Raghuveer said, trying to end the conversation.
"Okay, but donโt you dare touch my sister," Sidharth warned, clearly unhappy about his sister marrying his best friend.
"Sheโs my wife, after all. Good night," Raghuveer said, cutting the call, surprised at his own words. He closed his eyes, desperate for sleep, knowing heโd be lucky to get just half an hour or so.
